2024 Volunteer of the Year: Jenn Dundas!

Another exciting announcement to come from last week's AGM and Awards Ceremony. I don't love tooting my own horn... so I'm stealing the words TriMb posted on facebook.

Jenn has been watching her kids participate in triathlon for a few years and wanted to do her own race, but couldn't find the right group for her, so she created her own! She is the founder of the Just Tri It program, a women's only learn-to-triathlon program introduced this year. Jenn built JTI from the ground up by hiring the coaches, arranging programming, booking locations, finding speakers, arranging sponsors and encouraging her fellow female non-athletes to register. She sent weekly emails to keep everyone informed of the workouts and setup group chats so that participants could connect with each other, even if they had to miss a workout. The program was a huge success and brought so many new faces to the sport - not just the JTI women, but also their partners, their children and their friends. Jenn made triathlon accessible to a whole new group of people and Triathlon Manitoba will benefit from her actions for years to come.

As though that isn't enough, she flipped the JTI clinic into a new women's triathlon team, MaTRIarchy. She's the founder, president and lead cheerleader for that group.

We appreciate you Jenn and thank you for everything you bring to our community!
