Just Tri-It

The Just Tri It program is an 11-week triathlon program for women wanting to train in an encouraging and supportive environment.  If you are working towards your first Try-a-Tri or stretching to the Sprint distances our program can help you get there in the company of friends!  ALL shapes and abilities are welcome.

‘Tri’ something new with a fun and positive group of women.  Improve your physical and mental well-being in a social setting while we train together for the St. Malo Triathlon (Try-a-Tri distance) on June 21st, 2025.

 

The Just Tri-It (JTI) program is an encouraging and supportive group that wants to help you lead a fun, healthy life.  Our program is based on the highly successful Saskatoon program that has introduced hundreds of women, just like yourself, to triathlon over the past 20 years.  You do not need to be an athlete - you just need the courage to ‘Tri’ it!  Not a swimmer, cyclist, or runner?  You are perfect for this program.  ALL shapes and abilities are welcome.  Just bring your positive I’ll Tri It attitude.

 

Meet new friends or convince your co-worker, friend, sister, or mom to join you.  Spots are limited to ensure everyone has lots of support from our coaches – so register early!

 

This 11-week program runs from April 7th to June 21st and includes:

  • 3 sessions per week, one of each swimming, biking, and running

  • Weekly speaker sessions to keep you motivated and educated along the way

  • Kick-off event with start-up swag bag full of lots of great stuff

  • Tech t-shirts

  • Special discounts at local stores

  • Entry fee for the 3rd Duathlon in the Park, Birds Hill Park, 5pm May 27

  • Entry fee for the St Malo Triathlon (Try-a-Tri distance)

  • Membership to the YMCA Downtown branch, with full access to their facility and programming and 2h free underground parking daily while using the Y.

  • 2025 MaTRIarchy Triathlon Club membership

  • Program value is over $800

Registration fees for JUST TRI-IT 2025: $325

 

Requirements:

  • Women ages 18+

  • Ability to walk for 30 minutes, without stopping (we are NOT talking power-walk here)

  • Ability to swim 25ft (using any stroke, including doggy-paddle … similar to what you would have to do to be allowed to swim in the deep-end of a public pool)

  • Triathlon Manitoba and Canada memberships.  These will be added to your cart at check out if you do not already have one.  These organizations are non-profit member based clubs responsible for delivering fun and safe programming. 

Run Training

Coaches Sherry and Linda will push us to improve our running form and endurance.

Other Elements

Discounts and private shopping nights at local stores.  Swag and give aways to help you build you triathlon kit.  And of course, a supportive community of women cheering you on.

Bike Training

Coaches Christine and Dot will help us improve your cycling skills and stamina.

 

Tuesday 7–8pm,

at various locations around the city.

Strength Training

Coach Christine will teach us functional fitness workouts focusing on the muscles we need to to start smart & keep injury free.

Coaches Nadia and Leanne will train us and improve our technique and endurance.

Speaker Series

Participant - JTI 2024

This is my first sprint triathlon, and I trained with a group of 20 other brave women who also wanted to achieve a goal of doing a triathlon.  This has been a life highlight.
